The Ethiopian Public Health Association (EPHA) arranged an orientation session to Dr. Haddis Alemayehu high school students on the concept of Compassionate Respectful Caring (CRC) and club formation from 8 to 9 June 2019 in Addis Ababa.
The objective of the orientation is to create an awareness on the value of CRC and to help students in developing a positive attitude towards CRC.

The awareness session was mainly focused on the concepts and principles of CRC, components of CRC and ways of providing compassionate care. This may help students to choose their future carrier in the health system with appropriate mind setup.
The orientation has been organized by CRC team lead, Mr. Yusuf Abdu EPHA member’s affairs and networking acting director and a total of 47 students have been attended.
After the orientation students established CRC club and the members of the club planned to visit The Ethiopian Red Cross Society and Gergesion Geriatrics/ Psychiatric Care Center in the coming two weeks.

Likewise, 45 high school and preparatory school teachers took a similar course on the basic concepts of CRC from 18-21 May 2019 at Global Hotel, Addis Ababa.

CRC health professionals is one of the four transformation agendas set by the Ministry of Health to achieve the Health Sector Transformation Plan (HSTP).
