Construction of EPHA’s House Starts

The actual construction work of the building that will host the Head Office of the Ethiopian Public Health Association (EPHA) has recently started.

It is to be recalled that a cornerstone for the construction of the EPHA house was laid on September 14, 2013 by H.E. Dr. Kesetebirhan Admassu, Minister of FMoH and Chief Patron of the project and Dr. Tewabech Bishaw, former President of the Association.
EPHA’s house will be built on 885m2 plot of land secured from the Municipality of the Addis Ababa City Administration.  The construction work is estimated to cost 100 million Birr.

Excavation work in progress

The EPHA House, which is being built around a place locally called ‘Kebena’ in Addis Ababa, is expected to serve as a center of excellence for learning, research and development as well as training and publications.
It will also be an open place for public health professionals and sister organizations to network themselves, deliberate and exchange information and experiences that are of paramount significance to the enhancement of public health in the country.
