EPHA Formed Chapter for the Addis Ababa City Administration


The Ethiopian Public Health Association (EPHA) established new chapter for the Addis Ababa City Administration, initially with participants drawn from the public and private health institutions working in the city and the Addis Ababa Health Bureau.

This was taken place during a training on Leadership and Communication that was lasted from 27 to 28 of March 2014 at Elille hotel, Addis Ababa. The training was taken as a good opportunity to appropriate conditions for the establishment of the AA chapter with the mandate to strengthen activities towards addressing the public health interest in Addis Ababa.

 

The newly established AACA chapter will be duty bounded to promote EPHA's work for the population of Addis Ababa, strengthen membership development, advocate prime public health priority agendas, extend its network with sister organizations and mobilize resources in a bid to build the capacity of the association towards fulfilling the organizational goal and objectives.

Attended by a total of 54 participants, the leadership and communication training was delivered in an interactive approach where it was useful and practical, according to the trainees.

Facilitated by Ato Ali Beyene, Member Affairs and Networking Director of EPHA, the election core groups was held and hence, Ato Ben Tegegn, (chairperson), Dr Rahel Argaw (Vice Chairperson), W/ro Ayahelush boru, Sr Ruth Eshete and Senait were elected as a core group of the AACA EPHA chapter.
