About EPHA
EPHA is a legally registered national, independent, not-for-profit, voluntary professional association established in 1989. Attempts to form a public health association dates back to 1960s.
 The first attempt was in the Gondar campus in 1966 but failed. In 1975,   the former Health Officers Association which could be considered as the precursor of EPHA was established, and in 1989 as a successor of the previous attempts and as a multi-disciplinary professional association EPHA was established.

The 2009 world public health congress ended with great successThe 12th World Congress on Public Health was held in Istanbul Hilton Hotel and Convention Center, on April 27 – May 01, 2009.Around 2400 participants from 132 countries have attended to the World Congress.
